The exhibition is a sensitive survey and re-presentation of Abstract Expressionist masterpieces alongside the work of lesser-known artists and those working outside of the United States. In addition, the exhibition will feature work by subsequent generations of artists producing abstract works in a variety of media. The exhibition will allow audiences to engage with works by Pollock, de Kooning, and Rothko, never before exhibited in Russia, and will introduce them to prominent international contemporary artists – an unprecedented and comprehensive selection of abstract art from the 1940's to the present.
Chowaiki Mosionzhnik is a private gallery and art advisory service founded in 2004 by Ezra Chowaiki and Luba Mosionzhnik. The gallery has developed a far reaching reputation for its knowledge, support, patience, honesty and straightforward advice. This combination has helped Chowaiki Mosionzhnik acquire some of the top clients in the world for art by Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary masters.
In March 2007, Gallery Shkola (L’École) opened in Moscow in partnership with Chowaiki Mosionzhnik (New York). It is the first gallery in Moscow to house exhibitions featuring internationally renowned Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Modern masters. Our inaugural exhibition included works by artists such as Courbet, Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley, Chagall and Picasso among others. Gallery Shkola (L’École) was organized to bring to Russia a high level of art advisory to its already extensive clientele.
