Eco Loft Campaign Makes New York City Debut at The Visionaire,

The Nation’s Greenest Residential High-Rise

  - Eco Loft Campaign shows living green can be luxurious -

NEW YORK (April 17, 2009) - The Eco Loft Campaign has chosen The Visionaire condominium in lower Manhattan to host a series of events spearheaded by lifestyle branding firm TEN|82. The Eco Loft Campaign expresses the progressive sensibility to “go green” without losing your luxury lifestyle. The Visionaire, located at 70 Little West St., is designed to be the nation’s greenest residential high-rise and is set to achieve the U.S. Green Building Council’s highest level of certification, Platinum LEED®, this month, making it the perfect location for the Eco Loft Campaign.

The campaign started successfully in Los Angeles and is also planned to take place in Chicago, Atlanta and Miami in the upcoming months.

“The Eco Loft Campaign is on a mission to prove that Americans can go green without the stigma of being granola or boring, a stereotype that has been carried among Americans for too long,” said Gregory Lowe, CEO of TEN|82. “With a new outlook toward going green, TEN|82 hopes to expose America and the world to a progressive green lifestyle through the campaign.”

The first of the two events is titled Blank Canvas and will be held from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in a $5.32 million, 3,655-square-foot four-bedroom/four-bath home at The Visionaire, with tours provided to a fully furnished three-bedroom model. Award-winning designer Cheryl Eisen is using the blank canvas of The Visionaire three-bedroom model residence to design a progressive, eco-friendly home with eco-luxury furniture from the Duval Group. Duval Furniture is made from reclaimed wood, with a percentage of sales going towards environmental protection. In addition to The Visionaire, the event is sponsored in part by Earth Share of New York, Duval Furniture, NYC Green Car, The Muse New York Hotel, 360 Vodka, Go Green Displays and LoftLife Magazine.

“We are excited to be a part of the Eco Loft campaign because at The Visionaire we share a similar message that living green does not mean you have to sacrifice high-end design and livability,” said Russell Albanese, president of The Albanese Organization. “At The Visionaire, our homes offer high-end finishes and the latest in sustainable technologies.”

The second event, titled Liquid, will take place from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 and will highlight the importance of clean drinking water for the environment. Hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama’s stylist and reality television host Johnny Wright, Liquid will showcase ways to live a greener lifestyle. Additional sponsors for the second event include Charity Water and BIOTA Rocky Mountain Spring Water.

Car service for special guests to and from the events is being provided by NYC Green Car (www.nycgreencar.com). NYC Green Car is New York City's premier upmarket hybrid and alternative fuel black-car service. The company's fleet consists of full-size cars and SUVs including Toyota Camry hybrids, Lexus model sedans and SUVs, and six- and seven- passenger Flex Fuel SUVs.

Unique Salt artwork created by world-renowned artist Bettina Werner will be showcased in the loft. Also known as "The Queen of Salt," who was born in Milan in 1965. Her moniker refers to her pioneering use of salt in paintings, sculptures and installations with her invention of a textured colorized salt technique, developed in the early 1980s. She was the first artist to exclusively utilize salt as an artistic medium and is now approaching 25 years with her innovative form. Werner's artwork has been exhibited in the Whitney Museum, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the Detroit Institute of Art, Portofino Museum, Triennale Museum and Las Vegas Art Museum.
